Recently myself and 2 other friends (2-5/2-8) stayed at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. We had a great time and the food there was excellent along with the excellent service that was provided by the employees there. Next year, we will be staying there with a larger group of friends that I already made arrangements with. As time goes by, our group will be growing and we are all looking forward to being there.
where to begin? the room was totally awesome, spacious, great decor (retro shiek). HUGE tub. very clean. staff friendly and helpful. very happenin' place! even saw a couple of celebs. slots a little tight, but we ran into that everywhere. food there is to die for! if you love deserts, just about every place there has anything you can imagine! the floor show is beautiful! the dancing and singing on the casino floor we thought would be annoying, but completely wrong. very upbeat and fun! view from our floor to ceiling window was nothing short of breathtaking. same with the view from the VOODOO lounge. go to RIO!!!
We were hesitant about staying at the Rio when we first arrived because it wasn't on the strip however that was the least of our worries. WE ARE EXPERIENCED travelers so when we tell you this was the worst place to stay believe us. let me explain.... the rooms were nice the night life there is good however if you are a gambler DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL...(especially if a slot player) We were at this property 3 days and saw only 4 jackpots being paid in 3 days!! ... and they were dollars.. There were so many nickels that just ate your money and the quarters you can FORGET.. The money we saw and spent in these machines was ridiculous.. People just kept pumping 20 after 20 dollar bill in these machines and NOTHING.. I mean NOTHING not even 30 credits. We spent 3,000 between the both of us and no play at all..The machines like no other casino say on them that they pay out up to "400 coins" which we found odd and a scam.. so that means if you only get 400 quaters which is one hundred dollars your jackpot light will go off.. they hand pay you and thats considered a jackpot.. the machine then is reset and good luck after that hitting on it.. i never saw such a thing!! Please take it from us and stay away.. The buffet was rated (so they say) #1 in vegas, we had the brunch buffet and it was terrible.. i mean terrible like dormitory food.. only good thing were the desserts and he shrimp cocktail (which you had to peel) The live entertainment going on while your playing is ao amateur you feel like your watching NICKELODEON kids (about 16-18) dressed in rio costumes singing and dancing to cheesy 70's songs.. Being off the strip was so confining however the casino does provide a shuttle to Harrahs.. TAKE IT.. it has a disney world tour bus feel to it but atleast it got us the heck out of this money hungry casino.. If your smart you will learn from us and never gamble at this propery.. It is merely a casino for a younger crowd that wants to get drunk ,go to the nightclubs and play one quarter at a time.. Playing the max bet will ensure you will be out of a lot of money like we were with nothing to do for 5 hours on sunday except watch people put in tons of money in machines and never hit.. Play tables they cant reset or rig the machines.. What a dissapontment this place was .. we had been so excited to be in vegas. PLEASE PLEASE stay away and if you go please let us know..We have no reason to lie about any of this ..just the opportunity to WARN others..
Stayed at the Rio to try something different. I normally stay at Harrah's. I get the room for free at either place. Rooms were excellent. Free in-room coffee is back. Mexican resturant on the second floor is very good. Gambling was terrible. Casino is too far from strip. Bartenders were not very friendly. No access to the swimming pools without going through the main part of the casino. I didn't win at all gambling at the Rio. On the last day before going to the airport I went to Harrah's. In about 1 hour I won back ($1100) about half of the money I lost at the Rio. From now on I'll stay at Harrah's . It's more centrally located being on the Strip.
We stayed in the Masquerade tower, on the 21st fl.facing the pools,Simply Beautiful Views, of the best Vegas has to offer, the room was splendid, clean, large. The hotel staff, of the finest found, resilient, witty, and extremely friendly. The pool area, shade was in short supply, we brought our own umbrellas, attached them to the lounge chairs & spent many hours poolside, the pools, all very clean, and I rate them better than all the rest in vegas, except: Mandalay bay, which is a beach w /waves. The seafood buffet the finest this side of the "Moon"!!! Very loose slots in the morning, very tight in the night, Xlnt "Carnival"daily, The Tilted Kilt-an Xlnt Pub for Black&Tans and "Killer Pretzels, Live Music nightly, xlnt coffee/donuts in the Morning, We Love Rio Hotel/Casino, off the strip, away from hustle n' bustle, Outback Steakhouse across the street w/xlnt cuisine & professional staff. We will return again to the Rio Hotel. Highly Recommended!!! |
