Caribbean-themed hotel with full-service health spa Located next to Las Vegas's huge Fashion Show Mall, this moderately priced Strip hotel offers a romantic Caribbean-theme getaway. The Strip, Las Vegas
This 3-mile section of Las Vegas Boulevard is the city's bustling primary tourist destination. Impressive casino resorts house major attractions, dining, shopping, nightlife, and entertainment venues. The Guggenheim museums, the Forum Shops, and Cirque du Soliel are here, along with most of the best hotels, offering one-stop vacationing.

Property amenities

An elevated tram leaving every four minutes connects the 2,879-room Treasure Island to its neighboring sister property, The Mirage. Treasure Island guests enjoy charging privileges at The Mirage and another sister hotel, the opulent Bellagio, farther south on The Strip.

What to expect: Originally a family-style hotel, Treasure Island was transformed by a $100-million renovation-completed in 2002-into a classy, hip, intimate place for young adults.

Amenity highlights: Surrounded by cabanas that can be rented for the day and come furnished with a television and telephone, a large, heated, free-form pool and 10-person spa provide relaxation during warm weather. An opulent health spa offers massages, beauty services, and body and facial treatments. Included are fitness facilities, steam rooms, saunas, and spas.

Dining

Kahunaville - This restaurant-chain branch offers tropical drinks and casual fare such as ribs, steaks, salads, and pastas. The dining room features a periodic fountain show. In the bar/lounge, bartenders present juggling shows, DJs play dance music, and a reggae band appears on Sunday nights. Seating extends onto a poolside terrace.

Buccaneer Bay Restaurant - A fine dining, Continental-cuisine restaurant.

Francesco's - Surrounded by paintings produced by entertainers such as Tony Curtis, Phyllis Diller, and Tony Bennett, diners here enjoy family-style Italian cooking.

The Steak House - Grilled meats and seafood are the attractions here.

Treasure Island Buffet - This large restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets highlighting international selections.

Terrace Cafe - Open around the clock, this coffee shop overlooks both the casino and the pool.

Canters Deli - A landmark since 1936, Canters Deli serves original sandwiches, including corned beef, pastrami, Reuben, and turkey.

Entertainment

Buccaneer Bay - Treasure Island recently announced plans to upgrade the pirate battle at Buccaneer Bay. The new pirate show will be introduced October 26, 2003 in celebration of the resort's 10th anniversary.

The casino supplies 95,000 square feet of slots, video poker, backjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, pai gow, and sports book.

The Players Club offers membership cards that consolidate in single accounts slot and gaming-table play at six Las Vegas casinos (The Mirage, Treasure Island, MGM Grand, Bellagio, New York New York, and Golden Nugget), MGM Grand in Detroit, and Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. Members earn cash and/or comp rewards redeemable for food, drink, discounted rooms, and hotel services and facilities.

Mystère by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island - This surreal and dazzling performance takes audiences on a theatrical journey through life. Performances feature everything from astonishing hand balancing acts to extraordinary aerial bungee ballets and gravity-defying Chinese poles.

Rooms

The resort has 3,000 guestrooms and suites on 36 floors, all with views of either the giant ships or the mountains. Each room features feature floor-to-ceiling windows and draped canopies over beds with reading lights. Lamps illuminate floral prints on walls, crown moldings, and plush, soft fabrics.

Deluxe room
One king or two queen beds. Tan, taupe, and cream decor. Table and two chairs for in-room dining. Oversized marble bathrooms include a tub/shower combination.

Tower Suite
Guests enter these 930-square-foot suites through a marble entryway. Deep rose-colored marble in the two full bathrooms, one with a spa and walk-in closet, the other with a stall shower with bench. Sitting/dining room includes a plump couch, upholstered chair, large coffee table, dining table, 27-inch television, and a Bose AM/FM radio. Bedroom has one king bed.
