Las Vegas City

Not only is Las Vegas one of the country's top tourist destinations, it's also one of the most popular cities for conventions. Las Vegas was also recently named one of the five most romantic cities in the United States Honeymoon Magazine, so an even greater number of couples are coming to Las Vegas to get married, while others are coming to the world-class mega-resorts to spend their honeymoon. Las Vegas is also a choice destination for couples celebrating an anniversary or other special occasion. In addition, the city has begun attracting families with children.

Las Vegas has worked hard to attract all sorts of visitors, but it continues to be a city filled with casinos. Thus, if you're interested in playing slot machines, video poker machines, table games (blackjack, craps, roulette, etc.), or keno, or betting on virtually any sporting event in the world (by visiting a race and sports book), Las Vegas is the place for beginners to expert gamblers.

If you have never gambled, many casinos offer free gaming lessons to help you get started. There are also countless instruction videos and "how-to" book that teach the finer arts of gambling.

Las Vegas is an ever growing and changing city. While some of the resorts, hotels, and casinos you'll be reading about have been around for decades, many of the mega-resorts (such as the MGM Grand, the Bellagio. the Venetian, Luxor, Aladdin, New York, and Paris Las Vegas were built a lot more recently (most within the last decade).

As you look down the famous Las Vegas Strip, you'll also see a tremendous amount of construction taking place. New mega-resorts, hotels, casinos, theme parks, and other attractions are always being built, spurred on by tourism. Thus, don't be surprised if certain resorts or attractions are a bit different in real-life than the descriptions you're about to read. In Las Vegas, things are always changing!
