Sirque du Soleil "O"
Of all the shows and attractions in Las vegas, only a handful can boast being sold out every night. With the opening of Bellagio, the popular French circus troupe Sirque du Solei created their most ambitious show ever. On October 19, 1998, the show called "O" premiered and introduced audiences to the entirely original form of live entertainment. The show's name was inspired by the concept of infinity, the circle of life, and the elegance of its purest form. "O", phonetically speaking, is the French word for water. While this show incorporates all of the elements that have made Sirque du Soleil a worldwide phenomenon-costumes, live music, special effects, and incredible circus talent - "O" adds a new component to Sirque du Soleil's unusual form of entertainment: water. With an international cast of over seventy-five, the performance takes place in the air, on a traditional stage, an under water. This 90-minute production is truly original, breathtaking, imaginative, and absolutely entertaining! "O" marks Sirque du Soleil's first venture into aquatic theater. Acrobats, trapeze artists, clowns, high-wire performers, and others are intertwined with synchronized swimming and other water-based acts like high diving. The state-of-the-art theater includes a 1.5-million-galon pool. For much of the show, the pool acts as the stage. This show is probably the most expensive production in Las Vegas, and as a result, ticket prices are steep - $100 each. This is definitely the hottest selling show in Las Vegas, so ordering your tickets as far in advance as possible is an absolute must. Ticket Price: $100 each Show Times: 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. (Friday through Tuesday) |
